Aluminium MPP

Acoustic. Precise. Architectural.

Overview

TILT’s Multi-Perforated Panels (MPP) are an engineered louvre and screen system designed from first principles for South African climatic and acoustic conditions. Two standard module heights are available: the 5-slat module at 297 mm overall height, and the 11-slat module at 650 mm overall height. Both profiles share a wave-form cross-section that provides inherent structural stiffness without requiring additional steel backing — allowing clear spans of up to 2 000 mm between fixings while maintaining a visually slender panel depth.

The perforation geometry is precision-punched to sub-millimetre tolerances before roll-forming, ensuring consistent open areas and eliminating the burring and edge distortion common in post-form perforating. This process integrity underpins the panel’s certified acoustic performance: the Blind variant achieves 22.2 dB(A) sound attenuation, the Microperforated variant 14.8 dB(A), and the Windows configuration 11.8 dB(A) — all independently tested to UNE-EN ISO 140-5. Weighted sound reduction is DLR = 26 dB and weighted sound absorption DLα,NRD = 13 dB.

Panels are finished in QUALICOAT Class 2 powder coat as standard, applied at a minimum 60-micron dry film thickness to the full external and internal face of each profile. This coating classification is mandatory for facades exposed to industrial or coastal environments and covers over 200 RAL and NCS colour options. Anti-graffiti topcoat is available as a factory-applied option for ground-level or publicly accessible installations. Watertightness is certified to EN 13030, making MPP suitable for weather-exposed applications including ventilated facades, carpark screens and acoustic boundary walls.

Key Benefits

Micro-perforated aluminium providing precise control over light, privacy, airflow and solar transmission — open areas from 5% to 40%. Available in 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm gauge with custom hole diameter and pitch configurations. Same QUALICOAT powder coat and PVDF finishing options as standard perforated sheet.

Applications

Solar shading facades, brise soleil systems, privacy screens, acoustic treatment panels and decorative interior cladding. Ideal where a refined, low-open-area perforation pattern is required for visual privacy or controlled light filtering in commercial and residential projects.
