Aluminium Composite Louvers

Timber warmth. Zero maintenance. Built to weather.

Overview

Aluminium Composite Louvers deliver the aesthetic warmth of natural timber cladding without the maintenance liabilities of real wood. Each profile is an aluminium composite construction — 0.7 mm alloy 3003/3105 skins in temper HX4, permanently bonded — with a UV-stable, factory-applied wood-grain film that resists warping, cracking, termite ingress and colour fade across South Africa's climate extremes.

Three standard profiles are available. Square Wave (125 mm panel width, 100 mm module, 25 mm fin face) delivers strong shadow lines and bold vertical rhythm — well suited to commercial facades and residential statement walls. Rectangle Wave (183 mm panel width, 160 mm module, 55 mm fin face × 24 mm deep) offers a sleek, refined profile where subtlety is required. Baffles Panel (100 mm height × 50 mm width, minimum 100 mm CTC) is engineered for ceiling applications — improving acoustics, managing airflow and adding architectural depth to interior spaces. All profiles are supplied ready-to-install on a clip-lock carrier system that is globally compatible with standard aluminium subframe specifications.

The composite substrate is manufactured to EN 573-3 (alloy) and EN 515 (temper) with a tensile strength of 95–135 MPa and modulus of elasticity of 69 500 MPa. Density is 2.73 g/cm³. Surface coating is PVDF Kynar 500 / Hylar 5000 (70/30) as standard — a two-coat minimum 25 μm dry film thickness system that achieves Rating 5B adhesion, Rating 8 salt spray and humidity resistance, and a minimum 50% gloss retention over the warranty period. Colour difference is held to ΔE ≤ 2.0 across batches.

Key Benefits

Performance Features

Seamless installation — flush joint finish with no visible fixings on the face of the panel. Authentic wood-grain texture — real-timber appearance indistinguishable at close range, available in multiple timber tones and solid colours. Unique interlocking system — clip-lock carrier allows rapid, precise installation without specialist tooling.

Lightweight yet strong — 3–4 kg/m² with high structural integrity. 100% waterproof and termite-proof by construction — no sealing or treatment required. Fire-retardant (FR) core available, compliant with EN 13501-1 fire classification and SANS 10400-T for multi-storey facades.

Custom lengths to 4 000 mm available on request. Anti-bacterial surface treatment available for healthcare and food-service environments. Lead-free, non-toxic PVDF coatings safe for interior applications. Recyclable — 100% aluminium construction with positive end-of-life value.

Minimum 10-year exterior warranty as standard. Open louvre geometry enhances natural airflow, acoustic performance and natural light distribution through the cladding system.

Applications

Aluminium Composite Louvers are specified wherever a premium timber aesthetic is required with low maintenance and long-term structural reliability. Facade applications include exterior cladding on residential and commercial buildings, balcony balustrade infill, pergola roofing and side screens, gate and fence panelling, canopy soffits and low-pitch roof cladding.

Interior applications include feature walls and highlighted accent panels, retail shopfront fascias, ceiling baffle systems (using the Baffles Panel profile) and architectural signage mounting. The Baffles Panel profile is particularly suited to hospitality, commercial and institutional interiors where acoustic control and lighting integration are required alongside a refined material aesthetic.

The Square Wave profile suits commercial facades and residential developments requiring strong shadow-line rhythm. The Rectangle Wave profile is preferred where a more refined, minimal profile is specified. All three profiles are available in any combination of timber tones or solid colours and can be mixed within a single installation.
