Our Story

Designed here. Built here. Installed by us.

TILT was founded in 2012 by Greg and Kelly Cooke with a simple idea — architectural metalwork should be better. Better designed, better made, and backed by people who stand behind their work.

Built from the ground up in Cape Town

Tilt was formed in August 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. Our unique and innovative vision is driven by Greg and Kelly, together with a team of specialists covering design, production, logistics and installation throughout Southern Africa.

Advanced technology and production techniques are a trademark of TILT. Combined with our in-house skills, we have the capability to craft unique solutions for the hospitality and commercial industries as well as private residences.

Our vision is to be the leading brand in our industry — creating state-of-the-art, custom-made cladding and screening that goes far beyond aesthetic appeal. Architects, interior designers, and architectural landscapers have recognised the superior visual and functional value of our products.

How We Work

Detail is our
design language.

At the heart of Tilt’s business is the belief that beautiful design applied to functional architecture can express a brand or person’s unique personality. Our products go far beyond aesthetic appeal — they evoke emotion, create atmosphere, and solve real problems.

01 — Design

From product design to pattern creation

Technical shop drawings, support structures, fixing approaches — good design is thorough, right down to the last detail. We develop applications that use minimum materials with maximum effect.

02 — Manufacture

Everything produced in-house

Manufacturing takes place at our Cape Town facility. Direct control over quality, costs and timeframes — no outsourcing, no surprises. One team from start to finish.

03 — Install

We understand your site

Our installation team assesses site dynamics and takes final measurements, making it possible to match screen design to reality — fulfilling the promise to deliver what you imagined.

Value Engineering

Maximum impact for every rand invested.

Value engineering isn't a cost-cutting exercise — it's a discipline. Because TILT designs and manufactures everything in-house, we control the full value chain. No inflated mark-ups, no wasteful over-specification, no outsourcing surprises. We interrogate every brief to deliver exactly what your project needs: maximum visual impact, built to the right spec, at an investment that makes sense.

01 — No middlemen

Direct from our workshop to your site

No resellers, no import mark-ups, no specification drift. Every screen that leaves our Cape Town facility was designed, cut, finished and quality-checked by our own team — exactly to spec.

02 — Right-spec

Optimised, not over-engineered

We help you select the right material thickness, perforation density and finish for your application and budget. Smart specification from day one means less waste and better outcomes — not the most expensive option by default.

03 — Life-cycle value

Built for 25+ years, not just handover

Aluminium doesn't rust, crack or fade. The life-cycle cost of TILT screens is significantly lower than painted steel or timber alternatives — a compelling argument for developers, QSs and budget-conscious clients who think beyond the build.

Meet the team

The people behind every TILT project

Greg Cooke
Greg Cooke
Founder & Director

The mastermind behind Tilt and the legacy it continues to build, he's always making sure the team is equipped with the latest innovations and applications to keep things running efficiently. With a tea in his hand and a plan in motion, not much can stand in his way.

Kelly Cooke
Co-Founder & Creative Director

Kelly keeps projects running smoothly while surviving mostly on coffee, organised spreadsheets, and pure determination. Her secret talent? Being completely self-taught in Illustrator — proving there's not much she can't figure out once she puts her mind to it. When she's not working, she's probably planning her next camping trip or squeezing in another gym session.

Sasha
Production Supervisor

Sasha is the production fairy behind the scenes, turning supplier connections, colour swatches, planning spreadsheets, and organised chaos into the products you see on site — with perfection somehow always part of the process. If she's not G-coding or keeping production on track, she's probably convincing herself that one more online order is absolutely necessary or off enjoying time in nature.

Danielle Waugh
Danielle Waugh
Client Relationship Manager

Whilst enjoying a black americano and at least 20 tabs open, Danni keeps the Sales & Marketing side in full motion. If she's not chatting to clients or keeping up with industry trends, she's probably outdoors, chasing sunshine — or persuading herself that this is definitely the year she starts reading more.

Musa

Youngest yet quietest in the office, you'll usually find Musa with his Ear Pods in, focused on designing, evolving systems, and finding smarter ways to improve the everyday things most people overlook. An industrial designer, entrepreneur, and summer music producer, creativity has always been at the core of what he does — from writing music at the age of 8 to formerly playing trombone in a band.

Stanley

Stanley is our CNC professional who's been with the team for 9 years — long enough that he could probably run the machine in his sleep by now. Easily the loudest person in the company, he's the man behind bringing all those perforated panels to life. If he's not at the machine, you'll probably find him jumping in to help the production team with a big smile on his face. Off the clock, it's all about spending time with family, friends, and enjoying the good moments.

Les

Meet Sasha's right-hand man, Les — the technical guru who keeps production ticking over at full speed. A fast thinker with enough daily steps to rival a marathon runner, it's no surprise he's always stocked up on energy drinks. If he's not helping keep the production floor running smoothly, you'll probably find him spending time with family or out on the field kicking a ball around.

Sipho

Our welding wizard Sipho loves a good challenge — no task is ever too big. The moment the welding hood goes on, full focus is locked in and everyone knows it's probably best not to distract him. When he's not suited up in full gear bringing projects to life, the gloves come off and you'll probably catch him out on a weekend jog or watching tutorials to sharpen his trade and skills even further.

When Kobus is not running on dangerously strong black coffee and full-speed SketchUp sessions, you'll probably find him happily surrounded by animals and socially distancing from humans by choice. Known for practical, aesthetic, and occasionally 'where did that idea come from?' design solutions, Kobus keeps things simple with one life philosophy: 'It is what it is.'

Thomas

After nearly 14 years in design, Thomas has mastered the art of turning good ideas into things that actually survive the real world. Usually quiet, focused, and somewhere deep in systems-thinking mode, he's the guy simplifying the complicated and removing anything unnecessary. Powered by serious cappuccinos, Lipton Peach Ice Tea, and an impressive amount of biltong, Thomas is always ready to solve a problem — preferably with measurements involved.
