Why choose us

A pergola used to be a compromise: shade in summer, a cold wet frame in winter. The bioclimatic aluminium pergola ended that. Its roof is a bank of rotating aluminium louvres — open them flat for full sun, tilt them for dappled shade and cross-ventilation, close them and they seal into a watertight roof that sheds rain to gutters concealed in the posts. One structure, tuned to the weather instead of fighting it.

That's really what these do: give you a custom microclimate on demand. Add sensors and the roof closes itself when the rain starts and reopens when the sun returns; add motorised side sunscreens or glass and the same terrace works from a Cape summer southeaster to a winter cold front. It's the category the big European names — Renson, Corradi, Brustor — built, and it's what turns an outdoor space from "nice on the right day" into a room you use all year.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a bioclimatic pergola actually waterproof?

Pluse Icon

Yes — when the louvres rotate closed they overlap into a sealed roof and drain to gutters concealed in the frame and posts. Open them and it's an open pergola again. That switch is the whole point.

Can it close by itself when it rains?

Pluse Icon

With the sensor option, yes. A rain sensor closes the roof automatically and reopens it when conditions clear; wind and sun sensors can be added for exposed sites.

Will it survive the Cape wind?

Pluse Icon

It's engineered to. Frame section, post fixings and louvre spans are all detailed to the wind load for your site — which on an exposed terrace or the Atlantic seaboard is a real number we design to, not an afterthought.

Can I close in the sides too?

Pluse Icon

Yes — motorised sunscreens, glass sliding panels and screens all integrate into the frame, so the same structure goes from fully open to largely enclosed.

Fixed sunscreen or full pergola?

Pluse Icon

If you only need to take the heat off glass or a specific terrace, a fixed or retractable sunscreen is the lean answer. If you want to control sun, shade, rain and airflow over a whole space, that's the pergola. We size the solution to the problem.
