TILT's top 5 completed projects of 2024

A look back at five standout TILT projects from 2024 — from institutional campus screens to high-end residential privacy screens and commercial facades.

2024 was a significant year for TILT. From large-scale institutional projects to precision residential screens, our team delivered across the full range of architectural metalwork — and across the full geography of South Africa.

Here are five projects from our 2024 portfolio that we're particularly proud of.

1. Hertex Showroom Feature Screen — Cape Town

A bold geometric laser-cut aluminium screen wall for Hertex's Cape Town showroom. The brief required a dramatic interior feature that could carry visual weight in a double-volume space while maintaining transparency and light flow. The pattern was developed in close collaboration with the Hertex design team.

2. Roche Commercial Facade — Cape Town

A full facade cladding package for the Roche commercial development. The project involved ACP panels in a custom colour specification with concealed fixing throughout. TILT managed the full scope from shop drawings through to installation and snagging.

3. University of Johannesburg Campus Screens

One of our largest institutional projects to date — a large-scale perforated aluminium screen installation across the UJ campus. The project required close coordination with the main contractor and careful phasing to avoid disruption to campus operations.

4. Helderfontein Residence Privacy Screens — Gauteng

Custom powder-coated aluminium privacy screens for a high-end residential development at Helderfontein Estate. The brief was for a screen that provided full privacy from the adjacent road while allowing light into the living spaces — achieved through a carefully calibrated perforation pattern and screen angle.

5. 99 On Melrose — Commercial Facade, Johannesburg

A mixed facade package combining ACP cladding panels with custom perforated screen elements for a premium commercial development in Melrose. The combination of materials gives the building a layered depth that reads well at street level.

We're looking forward to sharing more projects from 2025 as they complete. If you'd like to discuss a project, get in touch.
